It’s Vaccine Awareness week! Are you making informed decisions for yourself and your family? Vaccination is a medical decision not to be taken lightly. Serious side effects can occur and long term safety is really unknown. In fact, there is question whether vaccines are truly effective. I can’t possibly explore all the issues in one blog, but I hope to pique your interest enough to cause you to investigate the issue further.
The ingredients in vaccines are toxic. Did you realize that most vaccines contain mercury in the form of Thimerosol? We caution pregnant women to eat only small amounts of tuna due to mercury contamination, yet we will inject vaccines with mercury directly into the blood vessels of our newborns. Inconsistent in my opinion.
Vaccines also contain ingredients such as Aluminum, Bovine protein, Egg protein, Formaldehyde, Human protein and DNA, Mouse protein, Phenol red, Phenoxyethanol, Polysorbate 80 and Yeast protein. A great resource to calculate exposure to these ingredients is the vaccine ingredients calculator available at www.NVIC.org. Use this calculator to minimize your exposure by planning ahead before your doctor’s visit.
Heartbreaking reactions to vaccines are real. But pharmaceutical companies have been protected from lawsuits by federal laws. If your child is hurt you cannot sue the vaccine manufacturer. Congress passed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 which instead provided a system for families of vaccine damaged children to be compensated. By 2010, the U.S. Court of Claims had awarded nearly $2 billion dollars to vaccine victims, even though two out of three applicants have been denied compensation.
We give more shots than ever. The number of doses of vaccines included in the childhood vaccination schedule has tripled over the past 30 years, from 23 doses of seven different vaccines in 1980 to 69 doses of 16 different vaccines in 2010. So have the health issues facing our children. Autism, ADD, childhood cancers have all been on the rise in the past 30 years. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.
What was so bad about the Chicken Pox anyway? I’ve had chicken pox and the flu too and did just fine. We are making vaccines to illnesses that are very rarely life threatening or disfiguring. We are robbing our bodies of the chance to be exposed to a disease, mount an immune response and have lifetime immunity. We are robbing our children of normal childhood diseases that prime their immune systems for a lifetime of health. The fact is, getting sick in childhood is practice for our immune system. Mother Nature designed it all perfectly.
For these reasons and so many more, I have chosen not to vaccinate. I say “no” to flu shots, chicken pox shots, Gardsil, the shingles shot and the rest of them too. I know why I have made this decision. Please act to inform yourself and make an educated decision. The choice is yours.
