Many of you are working and studying from home. Some of you are already noticing the effects on your spine. Please take a moment today to check your home work station and make any necessary improvements to protect your spine. Check out our video for some quick do’s and don’ts.
Easy Ways to Protect Your Spine at Home:
- Adjust your screen. The monitor should be arm’s distance or 20 inches from your eyes and positioned straight in front of you.
- The top of your monitor should be at eye level. Use a box or sturdy container to raise it up if necessary.
- Position your keyboard and mouse to be 1-2 inches above your thigh so your arms are relaxed.
- Find a better seat. Your chair should be firm and support the normal curves in your spine and your feet should be flat on the floor. (Don’t sit slumped over on the couch!)
- Take frequent breaks to walk and stretch.
