A Few of Dr. Stephanie’s Favorite Things

Are you looking for that perfect gift for the hard to shop for person? With health, fitness and feeling good in mind, here are a few of my favorite under $50 items that make a great gift, or a gift so awesome that you really should just keep it for yourself!

Thera Cane ®

Buy this do-it-yourself massager for trigger points and sore muscles.  Reach the hard-to-reach spots in your shoulders and back for concentrated pressure to release stubborn, sore knots.  Expect to pay in the $25-30 depending on your source and shipping deal. http://www.theracane.com/

Foam Roller

Stretch and roll soft tissue all over your body using a foam roller.  They come in various densities.  I prefer the hard version, which can be painful if you are sensitive.  Buy a how-to guidebook with your foam roller or check out YouTube for instructional videos.

Heifer International

Gift the gift of a flock of chicks, ducks or a pig!  Your donation of a farm animal, seeds or equipment goes to a family in need somewhere in the world.  From the far east, South America and Africa your donation could not only change one family’s life, but others in their community as well.  The core of the heifer International model is “Passing on the Gift.” This means families share the training they receive, and pass on the first female offspring of their livestock to another family. This extends the impact of the original gift, allowing a once impoverished family to become donors and full participants in improving their communities.  Go to www.Heifer.org to read more!

Golden Milk Mix

I first feel in love with Golden Milk at a local coffeehouse, then discovered how to make it at home. Mix this powder with almond milk and serve hot or cold for a healthy, and yummy beverage.  Gaia Herbs brand Golden Milk is made with organic Turmeric and Ashwagandha and is based on the traditional Ayurvedic recipe that has been savored for centuries and used to support the mind and body in a number of ways. Within the ancient branch of medicine in India known as Ayurveda, Golden Milk is a tonic that’s meant to be nourishing, while also tasting delicious. Costs about $13.99 and is found at https://www.gaiaherbs.com/products/detail/774/Golden-Milk.  Read more about Golden Milk at their blog https://blog.gaiaherbs.com/2016/10/20/the-ultimate-guide-to-golden-milk/
