If you’ve been in the office this month, you may have noticed something unusual. Instead of naming only one Practice Member of the Month, for the first time in Pembroke’s 15-year history we have named TWO! But don’t worry, they won’t mind sharing the limelight – if you haven’t already guessed from their spinal patterns – these two practice members are related!
I think it is interesting that given the shape of mom’s spine, she didn’t have any back or neck pain. That’s right, no symptoms. Mom chose to have her spine checked by a chiropractor because she was proactively looking for ways to improve her overall health. After seeing her own x-rays and understanding subluxation and its relation to a healthy spine and nervous system, she had her whole family checked and I’m so glad she did. Her little guys play sports, including hockey, which can be a common cause of subluxations in children and teens.
Some people don’t understand why kids would have chiropractic care. But after almost two decades of viewing x-rays like these, I can’t imagine letting structural issues like this persist during a child’s growing years. While not all children have x-rays as part of their chiropractic examination, for one of her sons we found it necessary, as his posture and palpation findings warranted further investigation. Look at his “before” x-rays to see the shifts we found. It is almost impossible to tell if he was inheriting mom’s spinal patterns or just accumulating issues of his own from slips, falls, sports or other spinal stresses. But the results are definite. Take a look at his progress x-rays! Fantastic structural changes in only three months not just for son, but for mom too.
Who knows, you or your child could be the next practice member of the month. Stay on track with your appointments, do your home exercises and keep a positive healing attitude. And remember, while everyone’s results will vary, one thing is for sure, life is better when you’re well-adjusted!
