The World Needs You

This weekend was Market Days. You were most likely aware of that fact, seeing as almost everyone in town was down there. It was a really fun weekend. We had beautiful weather and even better people watching.  Do you ever do that? People watch, I mean.  If you do you know how entertaining it can be to just see other people and how they do things. If you don’t I think you should try it, people are very interesting creatures.

I noticed two things at Market Days from my people watching experience: 1) people have many unhealthy habits and 2) many people need a chiropractor.  As I watched folks wandering around I saw why so many of us have so many health problems: smoking, fried dough, sugary drinks, fried dough…The point being the vast majority of our main killers are lifestyle related: diabetes, cancer, and heart disease are now understood to be more closely linked to your life choices than your genetics.  Now many people will say: all things in moderation. Obviously, we will all have treats from time to time (smoking is always a no, though!), but even moderation should have a limit.  Ask yourself this in terms of moderation: do you only want moderate health?

As for the chiropractic needs I mentioned before, look at your friends, family, and co workers who aren’t under consistent, corrective chiropractic care. Is there head jutting forward? Is one hip higher than the other? Are their shoulders an even height? Many folks walk around and believe that if they don’t have back pain, then they are fine.  Yet, these types of indicators (even without symptoms) are indicative of subluxation. Subluxation causes problems….100% of the time, but the problem doesn’t have to be pain.  Subluxations can rob you of nerve function without pain! I felt sad for so many of our neighbors who don’t even realize they need chiropractic at this moment, because they have been lead to believe (wrongly) that chiropractic care is for the treatment of pain, rather than the correction of subluxation and the restoration the body’s Innate Intelligence.

There is an application in this for us: check your friends and family for postural imbalances (uneven hips or shoulders, head jutting forward;the ear should be directly over the mid shoulder, not in front of it) and if you see postural imbalances get them checked by a chiropractor. Explain to them what chiropractic is. Change their perceptions of health and change their lives! People need true health and daily you come into contact with folks that are going to have their health break down earlier than it should. You can prevent this! If you don’t know how to explain chiropractic as well as you want to, then ask us to help you or give you information. Our community needs health and you know the key to true health: allowing the body to work as designed; free of subluxtion and with full function of the nervous system. You can improve the lives of those around you. Our community becoming healthier and happier starts with you.

Wishing you health, above-down, inside-out, Dr. Graham, chiropractor
